New & Improved! The Document Image Previewer Gets Even Better.

Doxpop is very excited to introduce a new feature that we think is going to make many of our customers very happy.

One of the most common requests we get is for the ability to view documents before purchasing them, or to be able to look for one specific piece of information such as a mortgage amount or property address. Previously you may have found it difficult to obtain this information using only the thumbnail preview images.

To solve this problem, we have been working on a viewer that allows our users to view a few lines of the document at a time through a window that can be placed at any point on the document. Think of it as your own personal Doxpop magnifying glass.

We think that by using our new and improved window viewer, the information that you seek will be much easier to find.

Full size images of documents are still available for as little as $1.00 per page.

Whitley County Joins Doxpop Fine Payment

Doxpop is excited to announce our second new addition to the growing list of counties providing our online Fine Payment service this week.

Please join us giving our friends in Whitley County a warm welcome.

Whitley County handles citations for drivers in Columbia City and surrounding areas such as Fort Wayne, Wabash, and Warsaw. Major highways that pass through Whitley County include US 24, US 30, and US 33, as well as Indiana State Roads 5, 9, 14, 105, 109, 114, and 205.

Drivers who may receive citations in these areas can now make an online payment quickly and easily by visiting http://payment.doxpop.com.

LaGrange County Joins Doxpop Fine Payment

Doxpop is pleased to announced the addition of LaGrange County to our growing list of Indiana counties providing this convenient service.

The LaGrange County courts handle many citations of drivers from the area and surrounding areas such as South Bend and Elkhart. The Indiana Toll Road as well as Interstates 80 and 90 pass through LaGrange Counties. Drivers who receive a citation in LaGrange County now have the option of paying their fees online at http://payment.doxpop.com and saving a trip to the courthouse.

Make sure to keep an eye on our website as we anticipate even more Indiana counties to begin using Doxpop's Online Fine Payment system.

Allen County Courts Complete their migration to the Odyssey System

Over the last weekend, JTAC completed the conversion of Allen County courts to the Odyssey system that they began in early 2011. Our customers' access to Allen County court information will not be interrupted by this change.

For Doxpop, the last three years have involved some challenges as we combined data feeds from two sources to provide complete case information, and recently weathered some lengthy interruptions caused by the conversion process itself.

For Doxpop users, this last change will have little effect on your use of Doxpop. Criminal, Citation and Probate cases were converted some time ago, and hence are completely unaffected. Civil cases other than probate will go through a transitional process, but *current* information will remain available during the transition.

 Here are the details you need to remain current on civil cases during the transition between now (10/15) and the first week of November:

• When searching for active cases, you may find two entries. One entry will include only information from before 10/14 and the other entry will include all information, including actions that occurred after 10/14. In this situation, please look at both entries to ensure that you have the most current information.
• If you see only a single entry for a case, that indicates that no action has occurred on the case since 10/14 and so the single pre-conversion entry still reflects the most current information for that case.
• When you look at our "County Details Page", you will find two entries for courts that handle civil cases until the data from both systems are merged.
• If you use any of our "watch" services to keep an eye on cases or people of interest, you may receive extra notifications during the transition period.
• If you use the personal calendar feature, you will see two colors for Allen County on your calendar. Every event will still be listed, but the active cases will have a different color from those that have not changed recently.
• After the first week of November, we will merge the court information so that a single, current record exists for each case, and everything will be back to normal.

How Do You Celebrate Pro Bono Awareness Month?

October is Pro Bono Awareness Month. 

2013 Indianapolis Bar President, Kerry Hyatt Blomquist, makes a compelling case for doing pro bono work to attorneys in her short article "Using your Powers for Good: Build Your Practice with Pro Bono", recently published in the Indianapolis Bar Association insert in the Oct. 9-22, 2013 issue of the Indiana Lawyer. 

Doxpop supports the pro bono effort in Indiana by providing free Doxpop access to the Pro Bono District Coordinators and the staff in their offices. We also are pleased to provide a substantial matching gift again this year in raising funds for our locally supported pro bono office.

on-line at http://www.doxpop.com. Basic information about the documents is available
at no cost. Detailed information and documents images are available as a fee-based
service.

In addition, The Recorder's Office now offers a free property watch service to our
community. Any person may sign up at http://watch.doxpop.com to set a watch on his or
her property and name. Participants are notified via email any time a document is filed
that references the watched property or name.

Both of these services have been provided without any use of public funding (no use of
tax money.) The access provided by these services is in addition to the public access
already provided at the courthouse.

In addition, The Recorder's Office now offers a free property watch service to our community. Any person may sign up at http://watch.doxpop.com to set a watch on his or her property and name. Participants are notified via email any time a document is filed that references the watched property or name.

A fun new feature for Recorded Documents in Shelby, Franklin, Jennings, Randolph, Union and Vermillion Counties.

Do you use Doxpop to research Recorded Documents in any County that uses the WTH "ThinkGIS" system for displaying parcel information on the web?

If so, you can now go from viewing the Deed for a parcel on Doxpop to viewing that parcel's information on the county GIS system with a single click!

To try this, look up a recent deed in any of the following counties:

• Shelby
• Franklin
• Jennings
• Randolph
• Union 
• Vermillion

Then go to the "document details" page and click on the "map" link in the "Property Information" area. (Be patient- it sometimes takes the map a while to load.)

Pretty cool, Huh? 

New "stealth" feature released, and more on the way!

This weekend, Doxpop released a stealth feature that you have to know about in order to use it. Read on to join the inner circle...

The results on a Court Case Search can now be sorted by clicking on the column headings. When you click on the heading, the results will be re-displayed with a small arrow indicating whether the sort is in ascending or descending order.

The only limitation on the sorting feature is that you can't use it if a search returns more than 1000 results. In that situation, narrow your results down first by using the "refine search" link.

Sorting also works in your "My saved cases" list.


Here are a few other browser-based features you might want to try out when working with large lists:

• To get to the bottom or top of the list quickly, use the [End] and [Home] keys next to your keypad.

• To scroll through the results one page at a time, use the [Page Up] and [Page Down] keys.

• To find all occurrences of a particular word or name in a large list, use [Ctrl]-[F] (just like the "find" shortcut in most word processors) and enter the word or name you are searching for.

We are testing the sorting feature in preparation for rolling out a similar feature for the recorded document results, watch this blog for the announcement of that change!
